Picked a lemon

Fell in love with this car -- beautiful and a joy to drive. Panoramic sunroof leaked immediately after purchase though, soaking the interior when it rains. After three unsuccesful repair attempts, and weeks in the shop, I am pursuing a buyback with VW. The leaking sunroof is a known issue with this car. This car may well be wonderful otherwise, but if you are considering purchasing one with a sunroof, at least inspect the headliner to make sure you're not getting a leaky one. - 5.0

This car drives like a much more expensive car. Good teutonic design, comfortable and great highway mileage. A little more road noise than my 2018 Golf sedan. Handles much better than a crossover with similar space. - 5.0

The VW Golf Sportwagen is one of the best cars I have ever owned. No, it is not a crossover or SUV. People keep focusing on that, but it was $5,000 less than those similar versions of this car. Another bonus with it NOT being one of those other versions is the gas mileage is much better...better than advertised even. I normally get around 38 mpg. The fit and finish is quality. The base model of this car has a leather wrapped steering wheel and alloy wheels. It was also the last model to have a CD player in it. While a small car, it has plenty of room for groceries, the family dog, or suitcases for vacation. The engine has plenty of power with the turbo, and I have no issues with powering ahead of other vehicles when I am on an entrance ramp on a highway...even on the East coast. I bought the extended warranty, but never needed to use it. I think that says everything you need to know.
